Don’t overload outlets

Plugging too many items into outlets is the cause of many house fires. Outlets are designed to handle a certain amount of current.
First Aid Electric electrical safety
Power strips or extension cords are often used to allow several different electrical items to pull power from one outlet. If an outlet is overloaded, it can cause issues with the breaker box. In the worst cases, outlets can spark and start a fire. Keeping outlet load at a reasonable level is one of the electrical safety tips that can save lives.

If you need more wall outlets in your home, a professional electrician that adheres to electrical codes should install it to keep you and your family out of harms way. Contact your trusted First Aid Electric Calgary electrician today to get your outlets installed!

The only solution is to have multiple outlets around your house. Also consider the voltage usage of certain appliances before inserting it on an outlet.

Overloading is as dangerous as it sounds. If not used, unplug the electronic from the outlet itself, just turning it off is not enough.
